Tracey Merrett

I offer specialist advice on all aspects of planning.

My client base has included environmental and local government law, private and commercial property owners, developers, landed gentry, hotels, companies, housebuilders, local authorities, steel manufacturers, Universities, oil companies and charities.

My work includes ensuring the maximisation of the development potential of land, negotiations and appeals against refusal of planning permissions. Drafting and negotiating of planning agreements. Dealing with enforcement relating to listed buildings and other heritage and conservation matters. Applications for Certificate of Lawfulness, Acting as an advocate at Public Inquiries and hearings, diversion and stopping up of footpaths and bridleways, having both worked for four local authorities as an employee and then for 15 as an external advisor, I have good contacts and an understanding of the workings and politics of local government.

I lecture frequently on planning law to other property professionals and have lectured at the Planning Summer School.
